3000 Series Aluminum alloy

3000 series aluminum alloys with added manganese have significantly improved corrosion resistance, as well as excellent formability and weldability, but lower strength and cannot be heat-treated for strengthening. Due to its friendly comprehensive performance, it has been widely used in various civil industrial fields.
3000 series aluminum is an AL-Mn alloy, meaning it contains 1.5%-4.5% manganese. It is the most widely used anti-rust aluminum alloy, thanks to its good corrosion resistance, weldability, formability, and machinability. However, it cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, so cold working methods are used to improve its mechanical properties.
Compared to 1000 aluminum alloys, 3000 aluminum alloys have better strength and corrosion resistance, but their overall strength is inferior to that of 5000 series aluminum alloys.
From everyday visible beverage cans to new energy battery applications, 3000 series aluminum alloys are the most widely used alloys in the field. Common alloys include 3003, 3004, 3104, and 3105.
