8000 Series Aluminum Alloy

8000 series aluminum alloy belongs to aluminum-lithium alloy, the main component is lithium, because lithium is the lightest metal in nature, after adding lithium element to aluminum alloy, it can effectively reduce the specific gravity while ensuring the strength of the alloy material, which is ideal for packaging material.
8000 series aluminum is a newly developed aluminum casting rolling alloy that primarily uses Li and Sn as its main alloying elements. It is an essential material for the food and pharmaceutical industries, as compared to the 1000 series and 3000 series.
In the 8000 series aluminum, the magnesium content ranges between 2% and 10%, and the copper content is between 1.2% and 2%. Additionally, the zinc content ranges between 7.5% and 9.5%. These elements improve the strength and toughness of the 8 series aluminum alloy, allowing it to maintain good mechanical properties even in high-temperature environments.
The primary alloys of the 8 series aluminum alloy include 8011, 8021, 8079, and 8006.

Product Types

Due to its unique characteristics, the 8000 series aluminum alloy is typically only rolled into sheets and coils for use as packaging materials.

Sometimes, our customers require delivery of aluminum plates to fulfill their manufacturing needs for bottle cap materials.

Typically, the 8000 alloy of aluminum is provided in the form of aluminum coils, or cut into aluminum strips to accommodate the production lines of downstream manufacturers.

Applications

Currently, the main service market for the 8000 series aluminum alloy is in the packaging of food and medicine. The 8 series aluminum alloy can be strengthened and improved in its strength and corrosion resistance through artificial aging and natural aging methods, thus meeting the requirements for safe, sanitary, and lightweight packaging.

Packaging

8021 aluminum foil is a type of aluminum alloy that boasts excellent corrosion resistance and sealing performance. It is commonly used in the field of pharmaceutical packaging, where it is often employed as a packaging material to ensure the safety and quality stability of medicine boards. This type of aluminum foil can also be utilized to package cosmetics, cigarettes, food, and other products, helping to extend their shelf life and maintain their freshness.

Additionally, 8011 aluminum alloy is commonly used as a bottle cap material in the food packaging field. This type of alloy is known for its good sealing and antioxidant properties, which can effectively protect the food and beverages inside the bottle from pollution and oxidation. The 8011 aluminum alloy bottle cap material can also be processed in a variety of ways to create different bottle cap shapes, such as screw caps, pull rings, and rolling edge caps, depending on the specific production requirements.
