1000 Seires Aluminum Sheet

1000 series aluminum sheet is composed of pure aluminum with a small number of copper elements and is a non-heat treatable aluminum sheet. It has excellent forming and processing characteristics, high corrosion resistance, good weldability, and electrical conductivity.
1000 series aluminum sheet is widely used in products with low strength requirements, such as chemical instruments, thin sheet processing parts, deep-drawn or spun sunken vessels, welded parts, heat exchangers, clock surfaces and plate surfaces, nameplates, kitchenware, decorative items, reflective appliances, etc.

2000 Seires Aluminum Sheet

2000 series is a typical rugged aluminum alloy in the aluminum-copper-magnesium system, heat treatable alloy series aluminum sheet belongs to the aviation aluminum series. Its composition is more reasonable. The all-around performance is better.
2000 series aluminum sheet is characterized by high strength and a certain degree of heat resistance and can be used as working parts below 150°C. Temperature higher than 125°C, the resilience of 2XXX series alloy is higher than that of 7075 alloys. 2000 series aluminum sheet has poor corrosion resistance but can be effectively protected by pure aluminum Alclad.

3000 Seires Aluminum Sheet

3000 is an AL-Mn alloy, the most widely used kind of rust-proof aluminum, and belongs to the non-heat treatable aluminum sheet. The strength of this alloy is not high (slightly higher than pure industrial aluminum), so cold working methods are used to improve its mechanical properties. In the annealed state, it has high plasticity, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, and poor machinability.

5000 Seires Aluminum Sheet

5XXX series is a high magnesium alloy with good strength, corrosion resistance, and machinability among non-heat-treatable alloys. The surface is high performance after anodizing.

What is aluminum sheet packaging suitable for long-distance shipping?

Firstly, wrap the aluminum sheet closely with a dense waterproof film and seal it carefully with tape to ensure that no part of the aluminum sheet is exposed to the possible moist air, while placing enough desiccant inside the package. This is to ensure that the inside of the aluminum sheet is dry, not to let the aluminum plate contact any liquid, to prevent the aluminum plate from oxidation or corrosion, etc.

Outside of the waterproof film, another layer of kraft waterproof paper is wrapped. This is mainly to ensure that the soft waterproof film will not be damaged, waterproof paper to a certain extent can also be isolated from the external moisture, thick kraft paper can be well isolated from the temperature difference between the surface and the environment, to avoid the aluminum plate due to the temperature difference is too large moisture condensation phenomenon, to prevent the aluminum plate oxidation.

Outside the kraft paper, it will cover the whole layer of corrugated cardboard to protect the edges and corners of the aluminum sheet, and finally the aluminum sheet will be packed together with the wooden tray by metal packing tape. The outer packaging of a wooden pallet carrying several tons of aluminum sheets is reinforced to prevent the aluminum sheets from scattering and sliding during transportation, and also to avoid friction between the aluminum sheets and the aluminum sheets, which may damage the surface.

Two different technical processes for the production of Aluminium sheet
First of all, most customers who have experience in sourcing sheet metal materials from China should know that there are differences in the performance and price of the finished product caused by the difference between two different fabrication processes, mainly for series 1xxx and series 3xxx. For the finished products of series 1xxx and 3xxxx, what we should compare is not the difference between the fabrication process of hot rolling and cold rolling, but the fabrication process of finished products of hot rolling and cast rolling.

1. Different forming process

Casting-rolled is processed by casting & rolling into cast roll (6-8mm thickness) and then processed by cold rolling line, while hot rolling is heated by aluminum alloy billet (400-500mm thickness), which is rolled by hot rolling mill.

2. Different raw material supply

the difference between the two is that the billet supply is different. The hot-rolled billet is cast aluminum ingot–heated–rolled into a coil for cold rolling, and the cast billet is cast rolled coil–cast rolling.

3. Different properties

the surface quality of the hot-rolled aluminum sheet is better, and the mechanical properties and ductility are stronger, which is suitable for the anodized and deep drawing fabrication process.

4. Different applications

casting-rolled aluminum metal sheets are mostly used for building decoration and other common civilian purposes. Hot-rolled aluminum metal sheets are suitable for areas requiring deformation of the plate surface such as stamping and stretching.

5. Different prices

the process of casting-rolled aluminum sheet metal is simple, and the price is cheaper than that of hot-rolling aluminum sheet metal.

6. Different finished products

the elongation of the casting-rolled products of the same alloy grade is lower than that of the hot-rolled products, and the cast-rolled products are limited by the rolling force of the casting & rolling machine and can only produce Aluminum metal sheets of series 1xxx, 3xxx and 8xxx.

Thin aluminum sheet and aluminum plate are essentially the same; the only true distinction is in their respective thickness.

The aluminum sheet is any aluminum sheet thicker than foil but thinner than 6mm; it comes in many types of sheet metal including diamond plate, embossed, perforated, and painted aluminum sheet. A protective film is usually applied to aluminum sheets with a thickness of more than 0.8mm.

The aluminum plate is any aluminum sheet metal that is thicker than 6mm, it can be a hot-rolled sheet or aluminum sheet of the cast-rolled coil.
