Aluminium foil that has not been softened (annealed) after rolling has residual swathes under the surface when it is not degreased. Therefore hard foil must be degreased before printing, laminating and coating, and can be used directly if used for forming process.

Double-rolled aluminum foil with one bright side and one opaque side after splitting, such aluminum foil is called one-sided bright aluminum foil. The thickness of one-sided aluminum foil usually does not exceed 0.025mm.
Double-sided bright aluminium foil

The thickness of two-sided aluminium foil is generally not less than 0.01mm.
Laminated use of aluminum foil with other materials
Aluminum foil is widely used in flexible packaging, due to its inherent low strength and easy breakage at the beginning of folding. Therefore, it is rarely used alone.
Generally, it is made into composite packaging materials with paper, cellophane and polyethylene film. When laminating, glued lamination, dry lamination, extrusion lamination and cast lamination are used according to different kinds of adhesives to make up for its own shortcomings such as easy rupture, lack of flexibility and no thermal adhesives.
